I watched part of one on bbc the other day.. That tanner foust (spelling) can properly drive!

 

The best part for me is the Banter and its just not there on Yank TG.

 

Just don't think it translates too.

I think they just lack a bit of confidence in their interactions with each other.

Give it a couple of years and they'll probably be a lot more natural, although being americans that might be hopeful, lol

Some cool cars on it though and a lot less of the made up race bullshit

 

Brit programs don't cross the pond well. The Office was the first failure. What makes TG great is the banter and the unique sarcasm of it. American attempts are dimwitted and frustrating.

it's ok, not bad, but it's pitched more along the lines of fifth gear than top gear

they've tried too hard to make it the same but different and they've failed at making it different enough and yet still work

in the same way that gordon ramsey can make a great feed from stuff and if we try to do the same, with the same ingredients, it's just going to turn into shit

 

It's on bbc3 now... They have literally got everything from the British one, even the coffee table! Lol

 

I quite like it. Its a breath of fresh air from the constant re-runs on dave.

They have done some pretty good challenges on it as well.

 

The bond between the presenters isn't top notch yet, reminds me of the early top gear... but you know what, I liked it just fine. I learnt more about Lamborghini in episode one than I have seeing about 3 Lamborghini reviewed on the British version.

 

after season 2 you can tell they're starting to get into their own stride with it, the challenges are pretty fun specially with one of them just destroying eveything he brings.. and at least they tried to add their own flavour to it, unlike the aussie one which was a complete copy.

it's a bit cringeworthy, but i watch it for the phootgraphy and for the 'americana'. tanner foust is the best presenter by far, but as said i just think they need time to gel and get comfortable with it. it's not helped by being broken up with ad breaks.

 

there is such a lack of good car based prgrammes on TV we all have high expectations when one comes on, the yank one is watchable with the volume down as their accents just grind my back teeth, and when I saw the stig in the 1st episode I was hoping it was fat stig from when the uk guys went over there

 

what really got me was how they could "escape" from the helicopter in just some normal residential streets WHILE BEING FILMED BY A HELICOPTER FORM ABOVE

and relying on the speedo to see how fat they'd gone in the lambo's?

and the total waste of time it was interviewing buzz

i'll watch some more but they need to get their fingers out, 2 seasons being crap shouldn't be allowed to happen

 

as has been said, the early ones are a direct copy, but now there doing Season 2 its started taking on there own style.

The 2nd season of the Aussie one was good IMHO, but its been canned
