Hi all,

We've got the above car but noticed a strange rattle from the engine from about 2800 rpm to 3500 rpm - sounds like pinking (i know its diesel lol)

I've given it a full service and repaired the intercooler pipe etc

Any suggestions?

dual mass fly wheel starting to break up?

 

I've had dmf go before on my golf TDI but they dont sound like this..

they dont make all the same sound, had one start to break up on a peugeot, the only way i can describe the noise was like someone tapping a screwdriver lightly on something metal.

very difficult to diagnose over the internet without hearing it TBH
