Mondeo TDCI 130bhp clutch-pls hepl
Hello everyone.
I need your help.
I got ford mondeo zetec 5speed 130 03 plate it has 115 000 miles.
I hearing noise from the boot but while I pressing clutch it dissapears.
I have been told that it is a clutch problem.
Can I drive for long like that?
What happens if it brakes completly?
I cant afford replacement coz it will costs me £540.(duall mass)
Many thanks for your answers.

if its a clutch problem its more likely to be the DMF starting to break up.
The first signs are the noises mainly on tick over maybe a slight knocking, you may then find that the starter plays up and doesnt engage properly, this will be the bits of flywheel affecting the starter.
To be fair after you get the starter cleaned you really ought to be looking at getting the DMF and clutch changed as it will get worse and will clog up the starter more and more.
£540 is a good price for all the work done, mine cost me about £700 and that was with a good discount from my mate at Ford for the parts.
When/if you get it done remember to change the £5 rear crank seal behind the flywheel as this starts to leak with age and if you dont do it with the change over you'll be paying some one a lot of money for this seal at a later date.

Ya sounds like the same problem as mine I changed to a solid type and cant see much of a difference performance wise ,by all accounts the solid type lasts longer than the dual mass-best of luck man Nothing worse than car trouble, hope you get it sorted
