Default MK2 Ford Focus RS - OIL PRESSURE GAUGE QUESTION

Hi,

Thanks for checking the thread.

I jumped in to my RS yesterday and noticed the oil pressure gauge was sat at the 4 during idle and 5 (max) during motion - as I drove it. It drops a little if I am in 5th or 6th gear.

Is this right? I have had it for 6 months but I cant remember if it has always worked like this or if this is odd?

All help greatly appreciated, thanks guys.

My ST is the same. Sits very high when its cold as the oil is thicker, once it warms up it will sit a bit over 1/4 on the gauge. Then higher the more the revs increase.

If you just drive it gently off boost while it warms up then you will get varying readings and may look odd as you will see it at X pressure, then at Y pressure as the oil warms up.
