Default Mk3 Fiesta rear disc conversion (RS2000)

Hi All, long shot this one.

Have read a really good forum post about a project Fiesta that includes the fitting of disc brakes to the rear. (Possibly not on PF either!)

The authour goes to great lengths to describe the conversion and includes detailed drawings of the spacer plates he made - including all dimensions - he even made a set for another forum user.

I had printed the relative items - but these were held in my printer que and thanks to my daughter never got printed

Dont ask!!!!!

Have spent most of tonight hunting the net for the posts but no luck (yes i know should have book marked it! Doh)

So was wondering if any one can recall the same or has details of these plates, have read and remember the thread etc.

Cheers!!!

Go on fiestaturbo and go in the guides section. It may not have the exact thread you looking for but more than likely there will be a detailed conversion guide in there. Jamie

Many Thanks,

Will take a look

Though the RS2000 beam the rear brakes came on have a space welded on that I could possibly grind off and use......

If you check out my Track Car project thread on FiestaTurbo.com, it will show you how I converted mine.

http://www.fiestaturbo.com/forums/mk...135140/page35/

Hope it helps? Give me a shout if you need to know anything about it.

If you want any of the alloy spaces I used in my conversion, just pm/email the guy on my thread and he can get them made for you at cost (think I paid £50 including bolts). His family owns a fabication company, think he gose to Uni up north but he comes from Portsmonth way as he drop them off with me on way back to Uni.

easier way is a mk5 fiesta rear axle and focus rear disc assemblies
it all bolts straight on then just buy a rs2000 handbrake cable and jobs a kipper

749 steve...yep but its a case of what you can get hold of....and of course the cost.

Managed to get the RS 2K rear beam complete with handbrake cable, new disks, hoses, pads, back plates, good shoes and a new caliper. With the bonus of front struts with new disks, new pads, hubs etc all at a fantastic price - just the travel to get them.

Ended up getting the spacers made up at a local engineering works. They need finishing and a coat of paint now.

I have the RS2k setup on my fiesta now for... 8 years already .

I had created the spacers from a set of ka/puma spacers (which we needed to modify slightly).. this way we didn't need to grind of a corner of the standard FRST beam.

the bolts used to fit the hub to the axle came of a sierra cos (as these are longer)

We used an old socket (16mm) of some 20mm long on the handbrake cable, as under a RS2k the 2 mounting point of the handbrake cable are lined up next to each other (near the handbrake handle) .. and with the fiesta, the left (or right) one is placed some 20mm more backwards.
The result (without the 16mm socket) was that there was to much slack on the handbrake cable. By cutting open the 16mm socket, placing it OVER the inner cable and fixing it with tie-wraps, we removed the slack , as the outer cable got longer... now the handbrake works just fine (-: and is adjustable using the adjusters under the car..

To bad i don't think i have a picture of this anymore..
