2WD Sierra Cosworth. no longer for sale
Well the time has come round quickly, its time to sell my be-loved cossie.
Its a 1989 2wd sierra saphire cosowrth in crystal blue. The car has done 77500 miles, but the engine has only done roughly 17000 miles since it was built in 2003 by M A developments.
Engine spec is as follows:
Mahle low compression pistons and ring set.
New big end and small end bearings.
Big end bolts all RP.
W.R.C multilayer head gasket.
High flow oil pump.
ARP stud and nut kit.
Re-worked head port and polished.
Bosch 044 fuel pump.
3 Bar Map sensor.
Dark green injectors.
Garret t34/48, this was re-built by cr turbo's less than 500 miles ago.
RS500 style intercooler.
Silicone houses.
Large K & N.
Bailey oil breather kit.
Bailey header tank.
Bailey power steering tank.
4WD inlet.
Airtec alloy rad only been on for 2 months.
CW looms engine loom with intergrated fuel pump loom.
Full 3" mongoose exhaust system, majority of heat wrapped.
Recently had both the alternator and starter motor re-furbed.
Recent battery.
Renewed all earths/negs with a boat kit.
Group A coil.
Recent phase sensor.
Harvey Gibbs chip running 27psi dropping down to 23 psi as the revs increase, this chip is supposed to be good for nearly 350 bhp but i think i its about 330bhp.
The car has been maintaned loads since i bought the car in feb this year, it did have a small missfire issue when i first got it. I re-placed loads of parts on the car to rectify it. The car is taxed and moted.
Outside has had the 4x4 bonnet fitted aswell as boot and petrol cap, it does have the puller installed for this though. Its got 17" Kahn rsr's on it but they are now painted black. Also has morette headlights but i can supply standards if wanted. Also has the x-sport Rouse splitter.
Interior is in good condition usual wear on drivers bolster. Has a twin pillar pod gauge with boost and oil pressure neither are that accurate to be honest they were installed by previous owner and only cheap ones. Just fitted new tailor made car matts.
Just the bad bits now.
There are a few small patches of rust, both rear arches but it is not alot at all. Also round the sunroof there are 3 small patches, i will put pics of these up over the weekend.
Rev counter works when it wants too, it must be the clocks as all new wiring has been fitted. I will supply a set of clocks with the car, i aint gonna change it as i am too hand fisted at times.
Reason for sale is i got made redundant and have a new job that is not as well paid and i was only just managing to keep it on the road before. Also the other half is pregnant its very early days but i need to get all my finances right before hand.
Right here is a few pics with more to recent ones to follow over the weekend. Also ones that show the problem area's.

I aint sure what its worth, i know it owes me lots and lots but its been worth it. So i was thinking £6500 ovno.
Thanks for looking.

i normally not a masive fan of crystal blue, but this looks spot on mate, its a credit to you.
you probably know this already, but this is the wrong time of year to sell a saff - if you can, tuck it away for the winter and re-advertise feb/mar time next year
either way GLWS

I made the same mistake years ago and the daily saph cossy I had ,only had two call before Christmas ( one of them brought it) but after Christmas the phone was off the hook with calls for it
agreed wrong time to sell also i know you dont want to be spending money on it but get the rust sorted and you will sell it on easy after the new year, people get scared of a little bit of work dont ask me why.
Yeah i was thinking about getting the rust sorted but i think for the spec its still well worth the money. Plus i bet not everyone has been as honest as i am when selling a car.
Be patient steve , I know the feeling when you make the desision in your head you just want it gone. This is a solid car and will sell to the first genuine person to view .
Yeah its on eBay as a classified add buddy. Don't do the whole bidding thing.
To be honest if it sells then happy days, if it don't then i shall put it back up for sale next year

I don't mind taking the blame for someone keeping their Cossie, Cossie owners are becoming a rare breed now, don't want us to become extinct.
Have to say your car looks fantastic Steve.

I do have a set that need a re-furb, but i did have them on this one while i re done the kahns. It just did not feel asnice on the road felt all over the place on the back end, but i am going to polybush the whole back axle. That might have been some of the reason.
