Default fiesta rs 1800 electric windows probs

hi, i have a fiesta rs 1800 and for some reason the electric windows have stopped working on both sides.
i have checked the fuse and tried different switches with no joys.
does anyone know which colour the relay is? so i can try that before getting some new motors or is there anything else that could be the problem?
thanks karl

hello there mate, i had kind of the same problem, i have a fiesta rs1880 (1994). Basically my passenger side window stopped working, when i pushed the button nothing happened like no sounds or anything. i tryed a different switch etc but it didnt help. In the end i got my friend to gently pull down on the window while i pushed the button and believe it or not it was just stuck! and now when the wondows seem to stop working which they occasionally do, i just to this method so turns out nothing was actually broken. Not sure if its the same for you but worth a try!

cheers mate.
i've already tried that but it didn't work.
with the ignition on when i press the switches the dash lights dim a little so i pressume power is getting to the switches.
just seems odd for both to stop at the same time

hmmm, you say both the windows stopped working at the same time? if this is the case then its unlikely to be the motors or the switches unless its a masssssive coincidence. try testing the power to the switches with the ignition on you should be getting 12v. then try testing the power out of the switches with the ignition on and pressing the windown button.

im not sure what colour the relay is but i can try find out from my brother tomorrow he knows alot about the wiring on my car (rs1800) more then me anyway.

Check the wires are all ok in the loom from the door to the a pillar as they tend to brake.
