Ello ever one what is the best airfilter to putvon a focus mark one 1.6 to get more power iv put k&n on it but its all sound and no power

 

A panel filter mate. All the cone filters just suck in hot air on these engines

 

I wouldnt waste your time and money, it will still be slow as fuck

 

Iv want to get more power with out spending loads of money will a panil air filter make noise like a cone cud I not move the cone to get cold air on it

 

any filter change the difference will be so insifcant on its own it not make any difference to the power

 

You're wasting your time looking for cheap bolt ons. Just get a 2 litre or st170.

The panel filter may make slightly more noise but nothing like a cone filter.

 

As I said in your other thread as well as others on here, the cone filters on these will suffer from 'heat soak', so you will never see any gains, just create problems and a load of noise!

Best thing is the likes of the said K&N panel filter if wanting to uprate. Also mods like the ST170 shorkel can be done.

If you really want extra power then just buy the 2L as said, I believe they are easier to tune (Bang for bucks) you can get around 140HP from your current engine that said. I believe they really wake up with some SS7 cams, induction and exhaust mods but it all depends on what you want to spend and how far you want to go.

It already has an exhurst systerm and sports decat. Im going to see if I can find a panel filter or move the cone to get more air. And what is shorkel I dnt want a bigger engine aand just want to do a couple of bits to it and thats it
