Default To powder coat or not?

Got some bits and bobs I'm stripping out and am thinking of getting them powder coated.

So first up, is it worth it? Who do I get to clean the bits up? Is it worth getting my own sand blasting cabinet? Etc?

They are all going to be under body bits like hubs and suspension bits mainly but then I'll have to consider th cost of getting new bearings and stuff fitted too so I'm not really sure it's going to be worth the hassle?

Just need some pointers and prices for pro vs diy

was gonna tell you not to be a queer and to get a life but if it's a Cossie, it's legal, people love it.

I'd still pay someone, for the time/cost/hassel of doing it yourself, i wouldnt bother.

fuck it - sand it down and paint it satin black

I was going to get my hubs powdered but thought the bearings will get fucked and it will be a pain in the arse to fit so will just hide them behind big brakes lol

Ok, so leave it to the pros seems a good idea, I'll chat to you about how much they'll do it for this weekend mate

And no, it's not for bufftifying, it's to make sure it don't look shit and rusty underneath

Looks a good bit of kit! For the hassle though think it would be easier just to pay someone!

i'm not sure i'd want to save 92p by buying the more expensive kit, but if it works the wame way as the tests in ff mag, i'd be tempted

just got to find out how much the pros charge

and then i've got to factor in a sand blasting cabinet too

Powder coating done by the industrial type places is usually pretty cheap? Plus decent ones will do the whole lot - blast, prep and coat for you.

£240 for blasting and coating seems reasonable! I am going to get mine done as if you paint them they wont last long!
Down side is you probably would need all new bushes so would be an expensive job!
