can someone help me out here i have a mk3 2005 130bhp 6 speed tdci mondeo, need a new clutch and dmf so im told got one from ebay only done 500 miles but now its here it says its for a tdci 5 speed seller is adiment that this will fit my car as the 5 spped and 6 speed are the same can someone advise me if that is right as dont want to pay someone to fit only to find out its the wrong one for my car,,,many thanks folks for your help

 

Hi I work for a parts company in somerset and own a Mk3 Mondeo TDCI 6 speed 130BHP i looked into the DMF before even buying my car as from experience see a lot of these go. The good news is there not as bad as 3 months ago when u could only buy them from Ford for about Ł900 now theres a few on the after market under Ł300 or you could do what I will and do a Clutch and solid Flywheel conversion these are about Ł220 from my company but the 5 speed is different to the 6 speed as there is a different number of teeth on the DMF.

The DMF is a pain causes starters to go from the dust and Well expensive when they die them selfs I am defo going to remove my DMF and convert to solid after that only a clutch and CSC to think about!!

aftermarket ones have been available alot longer that 3 months!

 

Personally I wouldn't buy summit like that used..... Either buy new or go solid fly wheel conv. I sell these day in day out in either form.
Also the 5 and 6 speed are different so if the guy can't even get that right what are the chances that its only done 500 miles??
