Default Tubular manifold wrapping

Hi guys,

Just bought a GGR tubular manifold for my FRS and going to wrap it to keep temps down as much as poss.

Just wanted opinions on best stuff to use and if you have any tips on wrapping. Heard before about wetting the wrap or dampening it.

Cheers

I wrapped my manifold and exhaust while the wrap is dry, i'd recommend doing it outside as it makes a big mess on the living roomo floor and her indoors will not be happy with you

Have a look at this thread for more info/photos

I used some titanium wrap a few times, wet it so the fibres are easier to handle and also when it dries, it'll shrink and tighten a bit more.

helps drop temps and also turbo spool up time

as said really, wet it, the fibres will fall all over the place if you don't and they're really itchy.
i personally wouldn't wrap a manifold to avoid it cracking if the heat builds up too much.

If it's a properly made manifold, or a standard cast (not fucked) manifold it won't crack!
