Agreed ,carpark was small and not even full.Just the same old line after line of focus rs,s
Paul linfoots 3 door was the car of the show for me...STUNNING.
When i was 17/18 everyone had or wanted a hot hatch ford but nowdays the youngsters can,t get insurance so settle for driving rubbish or not driving at all.Parts can be obtained cheaper on the internet so the stalls are not as popular as they used to be when i was after them so it,s just the hardcore enthusiasts that are going to go to these types of show.Worst iv,e been to for a while and i haven,t missed FORD FAIR or NATIONAL DAY for 20 years.Think it,s a dying trend.

yes it was quiet there but i had a good time on track today.

could of been a lot better on track and infield but maybe the reccession, date of Nat Day may have put people off going.

needs a smaller venue imo to cater for everyone too....track and field.

Didn't go as I had a feeling it would be rubbish, I think personally it's too late in the year now, August was ideal, a lot of people only tax thier car for 6 months over the summer. Coupled with people being skint & the RS marque falling away, it will end up quieter. A lot of traders are priced out as well, plus Ł17.50 for the punter is way over odds IMHO.

Needs a serious rethink for next year.

Donnington is a great venue, how much does it cost the RSOC to hire it?

Aside from that, Castle Coombe is by far the best RS day of the year.

I agree, for how big the show was, Ford Fair was way better value, we had a good day but we were quite shocked at how small the show was, we actually wondered if we'd got the wrong day when we were on the way there lol, they was no queue whatsoever and we didn't see a single RS on the way there, very sad, it used to be massive.

Not been the same since they dug Donno up really, plus, as said, it's too late in the year really.

I left about half 2 after the parade laps, was a bit disappointed tbh but still some beautiful cars there.
Needs a smaller venue or to be earlier in the year imo.

plus point, the missus has agreed we can get shut of the chavtastic golf and buy an RS2K as a daily

I had a great day on the track and met Ronnie Amis so that was a bonus. Did make myself look a dick though when I told him I thought he was my age and not a young lad did make him chuckle though.

Do you think the lack of cars/people is because of the rules that you have to be a member to park on a stand and go on track?

I think Ł17.50 is too steep considering Rsoc needed people to attend after the previous years problems. They could have gone with cheaper tickets and relaxed the rules because of the time of year to get people through the gates.

I saw a post about t-shirts being included in the price but was on a first come first served but when they ran out you still had to pay the same price regardless and you couldn't opt out of paying for the t-shirt.

I didn't bother with trading there because from the general feeling from reading various forum boards attendance would be low

the fact that it was ford day at blackpool as well as ford day at crail ,and the show being in the middle of autumn is plain crazy ,makes me wonder if show organisers actually research if any other events are on the same day ,It was reported to me by our RS events organiser they could not find our plot so ended up being creative,The reports I have had from the members basically said there was no passing trade to speak of and the only people walking around were from other stands ,The RS mark is not falling away but the date of this show needs serious revision as it meant to be the RS brand flagship get together ,I personally thought central show and combe were far better

I compared it to CC as without fail every year, it has been the best show IMHO. Donny used to be good, never missed it, since about 08 it seems to have tailed off.

The traders thing is really a problem, need to drop the prices massivly to draw them back in

Soooo quiet out on track. Still had fun though. 2 cars stood out by a mile for me.

Daves escort. T34 and standard box and big fat leather interior and was quicker than me all day and I was properly trying! Fantastic driver and shows simple mods to a cossie can still make them very fast out on track!

The other was the black 306. Insanely fast for what it was and the driver was excellent! And so aware of what was behind him! He kept getting out of the way for me as I was slightly better on the brakes.... Trouble was.... He was faster through the bloody bends! So then I had to move over!!! Amazing little car. Very very very quick! Bloody good driver to.

TVR with the chevy V8 also worth a mention. Went well man.

I wouldn't have thought so Dan tbh as that's been the case for a while, i just think alot of folks buy Jap these days, cheap, reliable etc AND people don't have the funds they had 2,3 yrs ago maybe??
