Ray with the carbon fibre spaceframed Anglia (if you can call it that!) is hoping to crack 200mph at Brunters...

Ex-Formula 1 techincian's worked on the aerodynamics, Harvey Gibbs 573bhp engine with paddle shifted sequential gearbox, quick change ratio rear axle, in board Ohlins shocks etc... There's nitrous too, and it weighs 650kg!
Awesome car, awesome engineering and I'm going out in it next week!

if you know him. Tell him to look into some lighter wheels I reckon.
no need for Rally strength wheels and weight on that badboy?
not that it needs to go on a diet!!! wow. what a car

Elite, same gearbox as my Westy I reckon he is using.
I'll mention the wheels to him actually, does seem a bit of strange choice; though the car is designed maninly for track days and for the road believe it or not! He plans to do a few miles on it I think.
It pulled 159mph on the GPS on Donnington straight a few weeks ago on early testing, though I've never been there so don't know how good that actually is!
It's car packed with attention to detail and thought. Note the engine is canted off to the right, for perfect weight distribution front and back AND left and right!
And yep, it's an Elite 'box that's been uprated a bit apparentely.

Weight makes almost no difference to Topspeed. Think of it this way 100metres gained at the start because of superior Power/weight/grip is only 1 second extra on the throttle down the other end at 200mph. The least Power ive seen to pull 200mph at Brunters is circa 650bhp in a Porsche with good aero. For that reason I never compare different makes or even models of car you cant cos there aero's are different & thats what soaks the Power.
id love to see what the Zzz Zzz granada would do on top end! fucking animal of a car lol
in most old fords, you dont really need to be going THAT fast for it to feel terrifying and feeling llike its gonna fall apart!
My dad has taken his 24v capri up to 115 and that was enough (bonnets are known to flip up and dives everywhere), never mind 180! that 500hp cappa must feel mental
