how long do i leave basecoat down before i lacquer?

Question how long do i leave basecoat down before i lacquer?

put some layers of basecoat on my spoiler, how long do i leave it before i put the lacquer on?

as soon as its touch dry if you leave it over night the laqour could peel off later on .

cool touch dry now mate lets go for it!

will give it a light tag rag as well now!

I'd leave it overnight personally, let the base coat properly dry. I've done it too soon before and it always leaves a dull finish, presumably it's the lacquer re-activating the base coat, and the 2 coats almost mixing together. Never had a problem with letting the base coat harden off for a few hours and lacquering on top.

as soon as its dry enough to wipe over with a takrag really, so yeh touch dry. with waterbased, i usually apply, dry with a heatgun, n then once my gun is cleaned out and the lacquer mixed, its ready to go, which wud be 15 -20 mins tops really.

If it's dry then go for it. No point leaving it for ages.

No longer than over night or you'll have to base coat it again.

Don't laquer it too early though as you'll get solvent pop in it (Air bubbles - feel like little specs of shite in the clear coat)

20 mins give it a tak off by the time you mixed up the clear should be good .

as above 20 minutes tops really, i wouldnt leave it any longer than that as it wont key on properley

it will only leave a dull finish if your using shite single pack laquer mate or if your not putting enough on
