Beautiful 1992 Ebony Black facelift 4x4 Saph Cosworth **sold**
I have decided to advertise my Cosworth for sale due to soon be moving somewhere with no garage and i dont want to leave it outside. To be honest im gutted to have to put the car up for sale as i really am that happy with it.
The car is relatively well known on the RS scene and I hope the photos will show she is in beutifull condition.
Never damaged, all factory seams and date stamps present and correct. She is one of the last Saphs with the facelift dsah ,Electric roof and AIRCON!!
She was first registered 25/05/1992 and was standard untill about 2006 when she was converted to stage three with a set of greens and an increase in boost.
She has done a recorded 107000 miles and and the modifictions were carried out about 4000 miles ago.
The paintwork is Ebony Black and has a lovely polished finish, it really is like glass i recently spent over 12 hours machine polishing the car to get the minor swirl marks out and it was then given 3 coats of high quality wax.
The interior is again spotless no wear to the seats with lovely Ravern leather which i recently fully treated with gliptone leather treatment, unmarked 4 spoke rs wheel, a SECS Ecu monitor, a B&M quickshift, a pillar mounted boost gauge,Alpine cd player stereo and uprated alpine speakers.
Under the bonnet it is well detailed with just the right amount of shiny stuff, black roose hoses, powdercoated rocker, and again its all spotless.
The suspension is AVO coilovers all round with new brakes back and front, mongoose full stainless exhaust system.
The engine is one of the quietest ive heard from cold and has no cold / hot start issues.I can leave it a month in the garage and it always starts on the button.
The drivetrain is still very fresh and tight.
The wheels are as you can see very desirable 17" Rondell 122s in excellent condition and they are shod in brand new Yokohama Spec 2s 215/40/17s
Having had several cossies prior to this one I can comfortably say this is the best I’ve owned
I have an absolutely huge history file with this car going back to day one with the original bill of sale including all bills and recipts from new for work done. MOTs ,TAX discs etc, original ford bookpack and service book,
The current MOT expires end of march 2012
I have recently replaced various parts that were very good already but just me being extra fussy. These include, new headlight lenses, new indicators and side repeaters, new top tint windscreen so doesnt have a mark on it,vary hard to get hold of new sill scuff protectors.
The car was fully serviced less than 500 miles ago when i got it with pro s oil, new filter, plugs, dizzy cap, rotor arm etc.
The car is stunning and only gets used on sunny days and drives like a much newer car.
Price is Ł7500 firm , and i can honestly say you wont find one better for the money.
Normally i would be up for p/x's etc but with moving i really want a cash sale but may take a small p/x.
Any questions feel free to call me on 07837369424 , the car is based in Essex.

That's the one Ranjita, awesome car, I looked at loads then stumbled across it, I fitted the coil overs, rondells and fitted brand new window trims, fog lights & surrounds, headlamp glasses etc, I had a load of bits to go big power but decided it was to good to take so far, hence I left it stage 1 with a pipe etc, I sold it to a friend who had it stage 3'd (I done it at Powers when I was there) he sold it to GingeRS, it then went to Sensi, the Gaz, then Jamie,, all that have owned it have looked after it and done a few nice mods.

Hello Tev mate hope you ok
Yes this used to be my old car J400 RSC
And what a saff she is .. i bought it off GingeRS who bought it from Guzzler (Matt) the original first owner of the car used it as a daily driver to France and back every week thats how the miles got racked up within its early years etc but then the miles steaded as the owners progressed.
If im still right the car is running a MSD Closed loop chip stage 3 .. i took the car to Joe stevens at bluesprint motorsport because when you give it a bootful it used to chuck so much black smoke out! it might still do as joe said its part of the chip and the fuelling and left it alone so if it still kicks out a lot of black shit on the throttle i wouldnt worry as i never did. I also put the plate J400 RSC on
I had the bonnet resprayed and the two front wings by "Bigfoot" of KW motors who done a cracking job also the passengers arch was cut away and the rust treated, after which the arch just looked perfection as the whole bodywork and paint was detailed again by KW and it just was like liquid satin! ... if i remember thier was 2 very small dents in the boot lid that i didnt have done but these are so small it wasnt worth the grief
the engine as NEVER been apart and Joe stevens said it was a very strong engine and he reckons still on the original head gasket .. i had the car 2 years she never missed and beat nor burned a drop of oil or lost a drop af water .. the temp gauge NEVER went over a quarter ethier!
to me it was the best saff i ever had and i was very sad to see her go but she went to a good home via Gazcos who improved the car even more and looked after her a treat as i saw it some show it it was just MINT! Gaz did ask if i wanted to buy it back before he sold it and i was soooooooo close to saying yes but had no where to put the car as ive still got the Escos.
id say to anyone genuinely wanting a saff then do look at this one as all the panels are total original and its a very clean straight car, with history fron the very first day it left fords with the Ł21.000 bill i belive! the only thing i didnt like about the car was the ride as it was so bloody hard and speedhumps where just a er ..NO! .. but i know Gazcos said he was going to address this when he bought it and he did fit new bigger profile tyres etc
Its nice to see J400 RSC still looking as clean as ever and well worth the money as its a beautiful sierra cosworth that deserves to go to another good home as not many out thier like this one. THE CAR IS A PEACH OF A SAFF ........ AND YOU WILL STRUGGLE TO FIND BETTER!
anyway hope alls well Trev and take care

As you said the car doesn't burn any oil, overheat etc and i can say and drives spot on. The ride is far from harsh now , perhaps due to the different tyres. Tbh i wasn't to keen when was told it was on coilovers but was very pleasantly surprised how good of a ride it gave.

she is a beaut....i owned her for 2 years from 2006-8 and she was faultless for me
not many saffs that you can account for their entire history from day one
p.s. are the cupholders still in there

The cup holders are still in there and come in very handy

Thanks for the kind words, since purchasing the car i have done a fair bit to it also and have spent many hours machine polishing it to remove any swirls etc, have put all new lights on the front, new screen and jest generally tried to improve on what was already a very mint cat when i got it. Am in two minds to sell it to be honest and havn't advertised it apart from on here.

to be frank! if you can keep the car i would as these are now getting so rare to find total orignal in panels and history to match and top saffs are now commanding the Ł10k mark
yes the coilovers where the ride problem as the rondells used to have 205 40 tyres which wernt the right ones and to change to Konis i think you have to get the top mounts as well.
the only thing with coilovers is you car used to have escort cossie alloys on when Guzzler had it and you can get 225 tyres on the rear with coilovers.
if you going to keep id address the underneath and get it minted and then store and keep as the odd weekend sunny day toy and youll have a nice little investment as have you see the prices of MK1/2 escort RS and mint series 1 .... the saff can only go one way and they ........... up!
