Hey guys,
I have a 2000 306 HDI as a work run about and it has a problem that i think the garage is wrong about, It drives fine then cuts out at total random moments.. When it cuts out is throws up the fault light on the dash and the car will not start.
The garage then read the code and reports a fueling problem and car will not start, But if you use the fob on the key to lock the car and unlock the car it starts and runs fine..
I am saying its an immobiliser fault the garage are saying its the fuel pump.. Anyone had any experiance with either?
Cheers
Mart

Cheers, I might just get it out the garage and get an auto electrician to remove the alarm/immob first then see how it goes.. As if it does cut the fuel pump then that would explain it throwing the fault light up on the dash imo
like said the immobiliser will be linked to fuel pump and ecu will sense no fuel when problem occurs
so will throw dash light on as it senses fuel problem
so when codes read will read fuel related problem
so as garage have just read the code there are half correct
and obviously when cleared the code ecu returns to normal so will start
so imho its the immobiliser cutting in and shutting off fuel pump if its aftermarket immobiliser then it could be removed easy enough
but if factory fit could be wired to ecu which makes it harder to remove
hope this helps

Cheers for the info guys, And yeah its a factory immobiliser ffs lol
Guess its a case of getting the ecu unlocked or something, Actually after visiting the garage today and talking to the main guy he agrees its probably the immob being a bitch and he has a auto electrician who can have a look at it for me..
Only other thing i can think of in the mean time is to wire the pump directly to a switch maybe to override the immob but im ringing the auto electrician tomorrow to see when he can have a look.
