Its not the MPG you need to worry about, its the actual engine making it there

im running over 500hp & still get 30mpg on a run
Engine made 500.5 bhp & 408 ft/lb when it was dyno'd at Field Motorsport at 24 psi has hit( 42 psi) at times.

Current spec is : 200 block, cooper rings with six long studs, Carillo h-section rods, Cosworth forged and pocketed pistons, BD16 Inlet, BD14 Exhaust, WRC spec big port head, custom plenum and a good old T4. Running on a L8 with MSD coil pack conversion and closed loop with air to air boost control.it also has ALS&launch control

My one was ok on the motorway you
Might get 20'mpg cruising along 3,000 revs but the temptation will soon get the better of you and it will be back down to 10-15 mpg!
Well you got to enjoy the lovely french roads

I have just done 3100 miles in my 400hp 500 through France,Switzerland,Italy and Spain and we averaged 24.8mpg over the whole journey. I was pleased with that as there were some proper roads that meant cruising wasn't an option

Lol not your missus, woman in general, I never drive anywhere remotely in a hurry, yet accelerating briskly, accompanied by the spooling sound and they don't like it IME.

I personally don't find the fuel economy to bad, if in alot of stop/start traffic though I find it's worse for obvious reasons, but on the move it's not, to bad, at 70 MPH the engine isn't really working hard on them at all.

As said it's boost that drinks the juice!
