Default Lucky boy!!!!!!

Just been out for a blast in the cos after washing it. While out I noticed a rattling noise like the exhaust clamp loose. When I got home I popped the bonnet and found something else!

My 6 month old engine bay fuel hose doesn't look too good :-0
Lucky I noticed it! When I fitted the new hose and replaced metal lines while building it I made sure I ordered the right fuel line. The bloke told me that the hose was for fuel. I got some spare hose so I fitted that till I get some better stuff this week.
Sooooo glad it didn't go up in flames. I consider myself very lucky and am now going to buy a lottery ticket lol

Has that suffered from heat degradation? The hose has started to change colour where the cracking is.

It goes from the metal line under the car to top of fuel rail. The bloke at the hose company told me it was fuel line. I asked for braided and he told me that it was. I said it didn't look braided to me and he said the braiding is in the rubber. He's meant to be a specialist so I didn't question what he said.
The return is nowhere near as bad. Only very small bit in one place. I going to put the car on a ramp tomorrow and check the rear off the pump and tank as I got all the pipe from same place.
Where's good place to get proper braided fuel lines?

I'd take it back and kick up a fuss - going by the markings on it that you quoted it's more like breather pipe.

As said, well done for spotting it - I'd make sure the "specialist" was aware of his fuck up and the potential consequences.

Looked under the back earlier and the big pipe from the tank is perished badly and is leaking. Found a stainless braided one on eBay for £11 and 8mm id is £9 per metre so I know what I'll be doing this week!

i used PTFE inner/braided stainless steel hose from pirtek, there is usually one in most cities.

also cheaper than aeroquip

that looks more like air line hose to me!
