Like the ford mag this month doing the feature on non ford engines
Can anyone say how hard they are in say a mk3 escort
The c20xe has been done, but how hard is it to mount and could you use the rwd conversion bell housing to use say a rst box? But what clutch would be needed.
And the other interesting one is the civic type r vtec
I guess you would need a box from something like a eke
And also who would do a manifold to fit carbs to a st170 engine

I have a Vauxhall V6 in my Ka, made mounts and hung them off the standard mounting points (+ a couple more), dropped the engine and vauxhall gearbox in (I had to buy a cable shift linkage box to make it easier to fit), took the vauxhall and ford shafts to a local prop/driveshaft company with the measurements and they made tubular shafts with vauxhall inners and ford outers, wiring was easy as the ecu loom is separate from the car loom
Because I'm poor and peddle boxes cost money. So I've got a Mondeo servo and mc, removed the break bar and fitted the hydro clutch set up from the civic. Total cost, Ł10 for the Mondeo crap.
Also you can use the bottom half of the standard st170 manifold to fit carbs, done this to fit bike carbs to a mates Rs 1800

Ka would be an Easter installation ( as would mk zetec s, puma) due to have flat sections on inner wings to weld the civic mounts to.
Unlike my mk4 escort were I'm goin to have to box section them out. Tall engine aswell

Well I'm tempted to keep my escort and go st170 but what would you charge me to mount a c20xe or c20let
I think the vtec might be abit much for me

I love it, love how someone has taken something totally different and "made" it work, with some propper engineering & electrical skills.
Did anyone see the ka with audi S3 quattro engine and running gear at ford fair?
