Unhappy 2002 Zetec S Insurance

Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forum, not going to pretend to be some sort of motoring genius, I ain't that clued up on all the technical mechanics of stuff, but one thing I am is a Ford fan!

I passed my test at 17, got a 1.25 1998 MK4 Fiesta, and paid a ridiculous 3k in insurance! After the first year this went down by about £500, still a lot, but I thought this was just normal for an 18 year old lad. After nearly 2 years with the car (and around £700 in MOT repairs!) I decided to upgrade, and got myself a MK5 Zetec S, thinking that having 2 years no claims and no points would cancel out the fact its a 1.6, and that the insurance wouldn't be that bad...turns out I was wrong, and my current company want a crippling £279 a month, taking it over £3500 a year with interest payments and other scams on top, something I simply can't afford.

So, to the point, can anyone recommend a good insurance company either for young drivers, young drivers with faster cars, ford drivers, pretty much anything that could save me some money as I love the car and don't want to have to give it up already!

Cheers!

Thumbs up

Thanks for the suggestion, will give them a try! I've driven past their office a fair few times but never really given them a consideration - probably because of their ultra cheesy and rather tedious local radio ad, but hey, if they can save me money I ain't going to complain!
