Car has had anything it has ever needed, part off the top of my head replaced in the last 2 years include:

Front disks and pads
Front calipers rebuilt with new pistons and seals

aux belt
2x rear shocks
2x rear anti roll bar links
Rear brake pads
Hand brake shoes
Rear axle half shaft bearings and seals
set of tyres (rears being the newest)

Has never let us down and will legally tow 3.5 ton so you dont have to have a unreliable land rover to tow your race cars about.

Only bads points i can think of is a crack in the rear bumper and slight dent on tailgate, and the boot carpet has had something spilt on it before we owned it and its eaten into the carpet, but this can not bee seen with the boot liner fitted,

Took a couple photos on my phone this morning, will get some better ones once its been valated.

paid £7495 5 years ago receipt and hpi check from then, theres alot of car for £2250

Its called keeping your car well serviced, and driving like it did when it left the factory, a service isn't just changing the oil, moving parts wear, fact!!

Just found it hilarious that he called Landy's unreliable yet our older Defender has needed less in the 7+years we've owned it than that has in 2 years. And yes, it's maintained properly

Land rovers are great but their not nearly as car like or comfy as these.
I think what he's getting at it for £2.5k you get a shitbox 2.5 non turbo defender that won't see it's next Mot or even worse a disco that if you listen carefully you can hear the chassis rusting!!!

These are IMO the best value 4x4's out there in terms of performance/reliability etc.
Don't confuse this model with the earlier boxy shape ones that literally can't go round a bend over 50mph,this was the first merc owned model produced and the difference in quality really shows.
Apparently theres an easy mod to make the box 5spd instead of 4,just needs a flash code or something?

Great to hear that mate.
Mines sadly a cat c but is in really good order so hopefully I should get around £1500 with new tax&test.
I'll sell it in the winter when anything 4x4 always gets a bit more money!!!!!
