when my key is in the number 2 possion in the ignition and the car is not running should the fuel pump stop on all the time

 

my 3 door occasionally does but most of the time you just hear it prime for less than a second

 

thanks just haveing a nightmare sorting out some one ells mess

 

The pump should prime when the ignition is switched on, on the receipt of a CPS signal and is also temperature related, if it's not doing so suspect this (Accompanied by no spark) that or you have a power problem with pump etc.
