Default Fiesta MK3.5 hub and CV problem...need help?

Hi,

Without going into much detail I need to know if Fiesta RST hubs and CV's fit into the later MK3.5 fiesta hub carriers please?

I would check myself but I don't have any mk3 parts available.

Thanks in advance.

Adam

i think the only difference is the actual bearing its self , the 3.5 has a stronger 1 peice bearing

Are you sure the carriers are the same? The front struts on the earlier mk3's are thinner than the later mk3.5's are they not?

I need to know if the hubs, bearings and cv's from an FRST will fit my mk3.5 hub carriers.

Sorry for the bother.

Cheers.

Later 94 until early 96 MK3's were updated with better trim levels as standard, fuel filler had a cap, better door mirrors, slightly different boot(no swage line) and a different and stronger floor chassis among other things......the suspension being one which I can't find out if some parts are interchangeable!

Hope this helps.

I have a Getrag 6 speed and have custom shafts but the splines don't fit the 3.5 CV's only the RS ones, I don't want to change the whole front suspension as I can't really afford it.

Well yeah we kinda made a mistake with them!! I'll get it fixed, I'm in the middle of trying to sort it.

The gearbox side is fine, but the hub side isn't.

mk3 and 3.5 are different , 3.5 has bigger diameter strut , 3.5 ball joint is different fitment from mk3 , trackrod end is also different size so if your putting 3.5 hubs onto mk3 you'll need to change bottom arms and track rod ends aswell
also cv's have bigger spline on 3.5 aswell but mk3 shaft will fit 3.5 joint

hope this helps

john

if your putting 6 speed box in , best bet is use all 3.5 stuff and get your custom made shafts modded
as said above one piece bearing is better

John thanks for the info I was aware of most of those differences, what I need to know is can I fit the hub, bearing and cv's from the mk3 hub into my mk3.5 hubs so i don't need to change lower arms, hubs and front struts etc, etc.....thanks for your help!

As far as I am aware the outer cv of a mk3 has 22 splines and 2 part bearing and the 3.5 has 25 splines at the hub end gearbox end is the same for both, I am about to swap my suspension out of my mk3 into the new 3.5 and I am going to have to swap the whole shebang including drive shafts over
