Default mk2 rs clutch issue whilst driving hard

ive noticed whilst on the motorway going through the gears at higher revs the clutch pausing on the floor for a second, ive always thought this was just the way the car gave a safe gear change?

just in from a wee drive round the town and i was tailed by a big spec scooby so off we went started to get a bit of a advantage then changed into 4th from about 6000rpm took my foot off the clutch and it stayed there, and stayed there until i selected 5th and it came straight up?

needless to say the scooby drove right past!

has anyone had the same problem or know if its a fault?

so its a common fault claude? not a technical fualt with just my car?

i ran the same road yesterday at the same speed and revs and selected 4th without it being an issue?

annoying more than anything!
