Just a rocker cover gasket, just stick some tissue in the plug holes to absorb the oil.

Given that it's a Cossie I'd say that's quite normal and there's nothing wrong

I'm surprise it didn't miss fire all over the place with the HT leads swimming in oil.

That's what I thought. The gaps for plugs 1 and 2 on my zetec always have a bit of oil in, going to change the gasket when I paint my rocket cover.

mine was the same mate due to badly fitted gasket by previous owner i only noticed mine when it began pouring out of the little hole at the back of the rocker cover going all over the exhaust and causing a large amount of blue smoke to pour out of my bonnet vents!

Had similar on the Escos recently, just a poorly fitting cam cover gasket. mop it up with tissue and clean the plugs-wack on a new gasket and away you go. there will be a lot of smoke to start with but should clear in a few mins

i used a metal gasket on mine that has a special rubberised coating on it, with it being metal there is no way it can move when putting the bolts back in far far superior to a standard gasket and re useable too

Did you put a little bit of sealer on when you fitted it to help hold it in place and clean the suface of the head and cam cover? easy for the gasket to move or a little bit of shit stops it fitting right.

Mine did exactly the same as this, turns out that where a cock had scraped the previous gasket off they had gouged the cover and it was leaking through there. I had to use a gasket and sealer to cure it.

Its just that i dont see the groove on the inlet cam and was wondering if it was running different cams.
does the timing marks point towards each other on the two cam pulleys?
