Hi All,
I know its not very exciting but my petrol warning light keeps coming on and before you wise guys get going YES it has got a full tank of petrol

The gauge reads full and it is deff full , Optimax

Anyone got any ideas I have no idea how its works, type of sesor it uses???

Does it come on when you nail it round corners? Or just keeps flicking on and off? Check wiring and earthing, think it's earthed in the boot.

have ya tried taking the bulb out , thats what i would do

 

Mine does it too, it's probably the sensor in the tank. when you go around a corner the petrol pulls the float in the tank which separates the pin from the board giving you no signal which flashes the light on the dash.

thats why mines doing it. i'm gonna change it at some point when i stump up for the pump and sender cos ford don't split them.
