my friend 1993 rs2000 wont rev past 4rpm when warm he said when going down the road and turns the key of an on she rev's ok but not for long, there also be's a strong smell of petrol? what could be up with it lads? cheers hugh

 

Either your coil packs are dead or your coil pack wiring loom is dead.

 

hi mate, so new coil pack or check the loom where would the coilpack loom need to be changed or checked mate? cheers hugh

 

+1 or your cat has collapsed inside, check wiring to coil packs all along mine had gone brittle and cracked as it went into the spark plug cover and under the inlet manifold.
