Been for my MOT today, after all the things that could go wrong, essentially un-mapped ecu.... it failed on the number plate bulb!!

Any way,

When the cars idling with an AFR of 13.6-14.0 it will randomly stumble a bit and give an afr of 15-16:1..... it changes the injector duty cycle to compensate (with ego correction turned on) and does recover... but will do it again 40 secs later or so. I don't think it does it off idle, but i will take some logs to make sure. Could it be a dodgy fuel reg?

Also, how stable are peoples afr's at idle?

I have an AEM UEGO does any one have an opinion on them, it seems to have a little lag between the ecu and gauge. This isn't such an issue but i think its messing with the ego feedback system and causing an unstable afr at idle (ranges from 13.4-14.0) ignoring the above issue.

Rob, you need to take a log of it doing it - without that your pissing in the wind. Take a log and then send me a copy to have a look at. Soon find your problem.
