ok its only a work horse, but i could do with having something done with this.

dunno if its best to get a whole new quarter, have it grinded and filled/painted or bodge it, sell it, and get another car

any ideas id be greatful

Same as my early RS1800 mate, i think that there is a repair panal you can have fitted so you dont need to replace the whole quarter, a problem with all early mk3's i think. there was a topic on the rsoc site the other week, the guys user name was minij and the thread was frst petrol cap corrosion so maybe you could get some more info off there.

Here is what to do mate, the same as i did on hayleys car. I know some one who can do a good job too




Then a quick grind off bit of filler, primer and paint. Easy as that.

And that panel can be bought for around £20 if memory serves me right.

I'd recommend to cut all the rust out and replace as above.. Its the only effective way to banish the rust!!
