Default No Ignition lights - K reg Saph

I had some work done on the Saph but when I picked it up I was told that it would need a new engine loom. No bother I thought so bought one.

Removed the old one, which came out as a completly separate loom, ie no wires connecting the alarm etc.

New loom fitted, lower dash refitted and battery refitted and now there are no ignition lights, no fuel pump priming but starter motor will turn if I go to try it. Car has a Clifford Concept 300 fitted, which is what I suspect has packed in, but if anyone has any other suggestions as to what could be wrong so I can have a look over the weekend.

Recheck all the battery wires, esp the RED wire ford stupidly hide in BLACK protective sheathing, sometimes this gets put on negative!
Is there power in and out the immoby ?

As said above, check the immobiliser, the dash/instruments have nothing to do with the engine loom what so ever, the engine loom purely connects the sensors to the ECU, so for them not to work along with fuel pump etc suggests a immobilser fault to me. When the immobiliser is disarmed the LED should extinguish, if it carries on flashing then it's still armed!

Will check that wire tomorrow. The alarm must be behind the upper dash somewhere as I didn't see it while the bottom half was off but I'll try and check that too.

Alarm is in valet mode, makes no difference be it disarmed (LED off) or in valet (LED on). Was in valet mode before the battery was disconnected.

Then that tells me the ignition is not getting power as when it's switched on it should exit valet mode.

Just had a look at the battery connections and it all looks ok. The 3 terminals in the picture are what are on the battery negative. The top 2 have continuity to ground but the one at the bottom doesn't. Is that right? It goes back into the loom behind the battery along with the alternator/battery cable (which has been replaced).

Guessing that points to an alarm/immobiiliser fault?

Check if the wire inside is red, if so then it should go on the live as said, I know there are four on the negative, two that come from the main connector and another two brown ones (Which could be the sheathed one pictured)!

On mine I just have the square terminal on the live.

Both the smaller cables in the pic are brown under the sheath. The positive terminal is the same as yours except there are new lives for the fuel pump, rad and loom.

Yes thats right so thats your 4 earth connections, next thing would be to move on to the ignition side to see if you have power there.

Sorted now. It was a dodgy loose pin for the ignition live where the new loom connects into the car loom...

edit: Ignition lights came back on after cleaning terminals on fuse 22.
