Should a Cossie Ignition module be earthed out on the vehicles body, I know it has that metal plate but was just wondering. ?

Its life and reliability will be massively reduced if it is not fitted to a large heatsink. Thats why it uses heatpaste onto a good conductor which is then bolted to the chassis.
