What makes that nice rally sound?

the high pitched noise when you let off? wastegate?

 

Not having a dumpvalve is wat makes that noise. Metering flap and airbox muffles the noise on ERSTs

 

So if im running cossie management which will lose the metering unit, mine will make the same noise?

 

With no dumpvalve and a cone filter, yup

Any turbo car will, some louder than others. The noise actualy comes out of the turbo inlet, so the more open to atmosphere that is, the louder you will generaly hear it.

Dumpvalves stop it happening so much, and things like Air boxes, metering heads, airflow meters, and long complicated air filter to turbo hoses muffle the noise.

 

Sweet, i definitley wont have a dump valve, i cant stand the things!!!!

A mate sold it to me so he could go out n buy himself another one that was already cossied up.
You’re right it did have a 2.0 pinto in it when I 1st bought it- along with a straight cut 4spd box, but that’s all gone now in favour of the Cossie mota n box I fitted in its place.
Unfortunately the history of the shell I don’t know, apart from it being an ex rally school car- tho a few peeps that have seen it say its deffo not a Gartrac conversion- but more likely to be a Geneses conversion instead.
