Hi. Can anyone help me please? I have an S2 1990 RS Turbo. I am restoring the car and tried to start it up but it won't start up proplery. When I push down on the flap on the metering unit, the car will start and as i rev it I have to manuely push the flap down while using throttle, it rev's then, as soon as i take my hand off the flap, it stops. Any suggestions please? Thanks.

 

Put the pipe work back were it should be - the airflow is needed to move the flap and in turn that will open up the slots in the metering head that supply the injectors.
You might want to make sure the flap is not binding in the housing while your there as well.

 

Thanks for the reply. I will try that now in the week as I am restoring the car, also, would you know where the air-pipe from the ecu goes to because it's just dangleing on the side of the heater box, engine side, it's not connected to anything? Thanks

 

It goes to the top of the inlet manifold
