any front starter zetec on an ib5 gearbox should work, so sub 2.0 engines on mondeo or focus.
i wouldn't have thought front of rear starter would make a difference.
why are you looking for zetec ones though?

sean, Im still using the old ford ones and they keep failing from heat soak. I have cleaned all the wires and made no difference. I have read that zetecs are a better starter for this problem

Any zetec one will work, you might have to adjust the terminal connections slightly.

Thats a good find Rob how did you come to find that.. lol

They come on other engines too, the best way to describe it would be to look for the 3 external bolts that hold the starter motor together. Most of the time they are galvanised gold ish colour, as there not that old most of them are in still good working condition.

As stated they are very small compared to the std items and also have a higher cranking speed.
