Hey chip tuners help me out please
I am trying to live map my Cosworth 4x4 redhead and have got a definition file which is IAW048_01.xdf and I have just learnt that the definition file that I have is for a catalytic converter green head, the one I need apparently is IAW048_02.xdf. Does anybody have one or is there a difference between the two files and could I live map using the catalytic converter file. I realize people are reluctant to give these away but I am hardly a threat by way of competition as I am in the middle of Canada and there are probably only 10 Cosworth in the country.Thank you to anybody that can help me
Nobody said I wanted it for free, I just need help stuck in the middle of Canada where nobody can spell Cosworth let alone drive one!
The software will be different but I assume from what you want you have a standard car?
They are very easy to change, however to live map I think you will need a emulator etc?

The only real difference between a "red" and a "green" file is location 0FCBFh.
For a red file the loation is 00 (zero), for a green one it's 033h.
In the eprom this is location 3CBFh.
All maps and parameters are in the same place for both types.
There's also some info here: http://bigturbo.co.uk/main3.htm

Thanks. If I understand it correctly the binary file is the one I can get from the EPROM, as it is a Stage 3 and is going to be altered, and the definition file, (.xdf) is the one that shows the location of the maps and works in conjunction with the binary. I have put my standard chip in to the reader but it can't read a 27C64 chip (old technology). However when I put the new blank chip in, which is a 27SF512 it reads it fine and everything seems to be in the right place but as this .xdf file is for a green engine and mine is a red engine am I missing some maps or have I too many! Remember I am still learning just like you guys did when you first started.

27C64 chip? That was used on the rear wheel drive L1 and L6 ecu's.
An L8 should have a 27C128 chip.
Check what ecu you have here: http://bigturbo.co.uk/main1.htm
