Default Need you Help! Suspension question

Hi Guys,

I need to replace the springs on the front of my 2004 ST170,main dealer have quoted £76+vat.

Question is do you know where i can get them cheaper, or will a 2007 ST225 or ST 2.5l springs fit onto the ST170?

i dont want to lower the car just want to keep it standard height.

Cheers!

even if the newer st springs do fit it will ruin the handling and more than likely raise the front end as the st is heavier. to be honest i'd just get the ford springs to be sure of the quality.

only other place to try if you want to is a local motor factors. eurocarparts.com deliver if that helps.

to be honest i was thinking that the newer ST would be heavier and therefore have a higher spring rate, was worth a go though as there are a few sets on ebay for under £20! shame i cant find st170 ones anywhere!
thanks for thr reply though.

the only other good option to consider is a full set of eibach springs as they aren't expensive, will firm up the handling withou compromising on ride quality and will only lower the car a little bit. 10 or 20mm.

worth considering imho.
