focus st blackeyes
if i bought a focus st3 without black xenons is there any way to black the chrome part of the headlight for example splitting the lens off
i am just in the process of buying one so want sure if you could do the mod
thanks if anyone can help

im not much help mate as i only have a lx focus but i think they can be split using the heat method all though dont quote me as i also dont have the xenons

Also painted the chrome ring around the headlight bulb, makes a big difference. I'll see if i can dig out some better pics.

how do you split them rich using the oven is it a hard job i keep thinking about painting mine but standard black one are about Ł35 so i dont know if its worth doing

I didn't bother with an oven, just carefully prised the glue apart with a small screwdriver, worked slowly until the cover pulled off. I won't say it was an easy job as the screwdriver went through my finger a couple of times, but definately worth it!

how did you put them back together with some clear sealent
also what paint have you used

I just used matt black paint from halfords and I used tigerseal to stick them back together with, it's very similar to the glue that ford use in the first place.

Your being a bit fierce then mate, takes probably a couple of hours to gently prise each one apart!
