anyone know this s2??
As long as you go along armed with good eyes to check for all the rust it might be hiding then you will be fine! an hpi check is another good thing to get! take along a mate who knows what to look for because theres nothing worse than mucking about with shitty rusty escorts lol
clearly a trader......bet its nothing like described. have a really good look over it.
when i was selling these the number of normal traders who saw me doing ok out of them and couldnt wait to get one in to sell on.......only for me to look at it properly for them and point out all the rotten areas to them!!
and not a fan of the leather interior/its been de-locked/colour coded door handles.

not good then?
he said there might be a possibility he can put it on the ramp for me to look underneith it or at the worst load it onto the the ramps etc of his recovery truck so i can climb underneith if i wanted to
put me off slightly now
he basicly said its got one rust bubble a few mm on the tailgate same on the roof, a tesco scratch on the door runs drives fine and i can drive it up and down the motorway if i want to

I sold this for spares or repair as a non runner a few months ago. Its a nice looking car.
The paintwork is really superb on it as it was restored in 2006 but it needed so many things doing to it i gave up on it (i advertised it on ebay with a list of all the things it needed doing).
The guy who bought it (Lee) certainly knows his RS turbos and he's a decent bloke - so if he's fixed all the things that needed doing it might be ok? It looks nice.
I know he rebuilt the engine and the turbo so they should be ok, it needed a heck of a lot of other bits doing to it though so I would drive it and then give it a really good check over to work out what else you might have to fix.
The reason it was such a state was the previous owners had fucked about with just about every part of the car - hence nothing worked properly - i've never seen a car with so many things wrong due to having been messed about with (and I've had loads of old cars) but no doubt it can all be fixed with some time.
The only time I ever got it to run well enough to drive it the thing broke down within a few minutes on the way to the MOT - so I got towed back by the rac - that was the fastest it ever went actually - when it was being towed by the Rac at 40 mph!
I paid £2350 for it from a compete conman of a dealer up in York called Specialist Cars of York - total rip off merchant - he told me it was a nice car and just needed the alloys re-furbed! When it was delivered on the lorry it wouldnt even fire up.
never buy a car from these clowns;

Before it arrrived I already had advertised with photos on my website at £3500 (ie with a new mot/tax etc) and had loads of phone calls about it people wanted to swap all sorts of nice things for it - I was amazed.
But then when it arrived it was nothing like the photos suggested so there was no way I could sell it on, and I never got round to fixing it as would have cost me a fortune hence sold it cheap for spares.
