I've bought a second hand set of aftermarket alloy wheels for my wife's Nissan. They came with no bolts so was wondering are the standard Nissan bolts ok? I've been having a good look around on the net about it and it seems that there are 2 different seats, either 60 degree flat, or a curved seat. so is it a case of if the seats are the same then they will be fine, or do I need the correct bolts for the wheels to suit the car in question?

It's the seats that are the issue, see how the fit is with a wheel nut/bolt from your existing wheels, a lot of after market ones come with the "tuner" type wheel nuts/bolts that are super slim, around 20mm, so your old ones may not fit anyway.
What new wheels are they ?

If the wheels have got steel inserts u don't need special nuts/bolts

 

Thanks for the info, I tried one of the wheels on today and the bolts fitted in the holes so it won't need tuner bolts. Also, the wheels don't appear to have steel inserts, so will I need some different ones? They are Alessio Superturismos.

Oh and the car has standard alloy wheels, so do I need to see if they have steel inserts and go from there?

As you've now done up a wheel nut or 4/5 see if the seat where the shoulder of the nut/bolt is on the wheel is even, or whether the paint/powder has rubbed off in just a thin line, indicating different angle and only touching in one place, it's the angle of the seat that needs to be correct, as both are without inserts, as most are.
Phone alloywheels.com as they sell the make you have and will know straight off whether you need new nuts/bolts.

Ok cheers, the paint has been stripped from the wheels as they are half way through being refurbished. I whipped one of the bolts out earlier and the standard wheels don't appear to have seats either. I'll get on to alloywheels.com and see what happens.
