hi can anyone help my friends got a zafire 1.6 on an x plate last week when she was coming of the motorway the car cut out she maneged to got it started after i minute or two on short jurneys it fine but above 40ish it will cut out on stopping its been in garage on diognostic machine she was told it needed new maf so that was changed then today same problem can anyone help. i say garage is just tryin it on cos its a woman so im of to the garage with her to see what thay say as iv got quite abit of mechanical knowledge if i can diagnose the the problem i can fix it myself so she wont get ripped off.

I'd be looking at the egr if it has one they are notorious on the poxhaul zafira's

 

Maf can cause this, make sure they fitted a dealer one or a Bosch one, other than that i would replace the crank sensor

 

I'd be asking for money back as they did not fix the problem, that they were paid to do, then go elsewhere.
I would trawl vauxhall sites, as it may be a common problem so will soon pop up on a search.

Try www.migweb.com as it sounds like the air flow meter to me.all the above suggestions could be correct,but best get the codes read properly and checked first.
