Best Diagnostic Machine
Me an friend just set up garage we got launch x431 master really good. Plus well rated by most garages. Say better than snap on. Plus if snap on gets confused it will say MAF sensor when not true.
I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!

i've just got a snap on Ethos on demo for the week as our old heritage scanner is so out of date now i can't plug into anything post 2005! for the price the Ethos seems a decent machine but i'm still digging around to see if there is anything else up to a grand that can better it.
Depends if you want a code reader or a diagnostic tool...
IMO you can't go wrong with either a Bosch KTS340 or KTS670. They're both the same unit but the 670 has an oscilloscope. The other units worth considering is a Delphi unit. It's not just the ability to read codes but the information these machines carry, which is second to none.
I've played with several machines ad these are the ones that stand out the most, unless you're talking dealer spec tools or truck tools (which Texa is pretty good).

in the garage i work juring the summer we got delphi, snapon and bosch. got training on the solus snap on which are quite cheap atm nd there fierce good havent tryed the bosch equilivant. if u dont mind not having the scope. if you want to go further up market both the snap on verus and bosch kts670 are on par with each other. tryed a Carman diagnostic in college was impressed too so have a look that way.

My advice is buy one high level tool to use as your main diagnostic tool and go on the courses that they offer you if you can. Then buy a second tool from a different manufacturer. This gives you coverage when your main tool won't connect to something (no manufacturer can make 1 tool that connects to everything), or if you have more than 1 vehicle in at once with problems.
