yea it whould kinda run but id code them bleed up filter and pipes etc and keep trying, but if hes a decent mechanic he will know there a coont to bleed, i fill the filters with diesel with a syringe
You won't need to code the injectors to run the car - it will start, jut run badly.
Priming the filter always seems to cause aggro. Some people crack the pipes off at each injector and turn it over until fuel comes out. I'm not a big fan, as there are some very high pressures to be messing with, and turning the starter over can overheat the pump and damage it.
It'll be an airlock somewhere!

Vacuum pump on the filter housing outlet, fills the filter nicely and draws fuel through feed (which gets air when filter comes off). This works every time for me now.
Just filling the filter never used to work as the air you'll get in the fuel line will cock things up as soon as it tries to start and stops the draw.
I've not had a faliure to start this way.

i normally fill the new filter to the brim fit it and start the car giving it high revs for about 30 secs, the high presure should bleed the air through. iwould of done this first to get it sorted really then done the injectors, if you have air lock its a bitch to get out

All is good!!
Finally back on the road after nearly a grand and a month parked,he eventually got it on a tow also he spotted a cracked return pipe on the filter which he changed,It felt so good barrelling up the road home,it was only a short spin but it felt a bit more responsive and powerful although the mpg's were down to 31.5 but were slowly climbing, tomorrow will tell more, thanks to everyone for your help much appreciated!!
