Hi.. just put the reg of this car in google as i am now the owner and come across this page
i have also just had a look at the link you put up of the restoration you did to it
the car is still looking nice and clean and i bought it off a guy in liverpool
i've owned loads of RS's and was big into it 10-15yrs ago having a load of mag features but sold up and went to messing about on superbikes
i was recently looking on ebay and came across MOA so snapped it up as it seemed a bargain
and the rest is history she runs and drives lovely
here are a few pics of it now...

Yes my mate texted me the other day to say it was on eBay.he,s pasted my restoration page on there as well. After seeing it at ford fair I decided that I didn't,t want it back after all.
Still set on a series 1 restoration but not the .right time for me yet.

i love it but when i bought it it had a few silly little issues which i have sorted
its a lovely car to drive and you did a great job with the restoration and shouldn't take too much to get back to that standard

I blew up the original engine on the way back from Fordfair 2004.I purchased a rear disc conversion off eBay and when I went to collect, he had this red s2 that had been rear ended.Told me the story about the Harvey Gibbs engine and showed me receipts and I heard it run. so a deal was done and I give him £700 and took the engine out there and then.Just changed belt and all gaskets and it was sweet.jamie at JAMSPORT said it was a good solid engine.
my local scrap yard do a ford corner they got 9 rs turbos sierra cosworth and a escort cosworth iknow its not your car but theres look in good condition plus they all from rs club
In its prime ...lol.. it will always be in its prime its a classic car thats had alot of dollar and time spent on it
its only done 10k since you did the restoration and will more likely go up in value in years to come thats why I aint to fussed about selling it cause its a nice one
i had a tear in my eye reading this, when beef posted it up i was thinking wow this is a proper love story i cant wait to read the ending................
Then you said you didnt want it now. broke my heart that did lol

No room for centiment in this recession.I sold the car as I had a child on the way.I now have 2 so my loyalty has changed. If I did have it I would definitely put it back to factory standard.I think that's where it,s true value lies and could be bank rolled by selling the updated stuff so wouldn't,t cost anything.Don,t think it,s worth more than 5k but you never know. It,s the best colour and 1 of the last registered so is quite desirable.
P.s: I always hated the roof ariel even when the car was repainted ,I regret not welding up the roof.Still makes me shudder looking at it now.

Yeah I thought it was a strange addition although ive put a new mk5 escort one on now and looks better than last one, you did the same as me I sold my mint mercury grey 2wd cossy because of house & kids etc etc .. and I went to having bikes and trackdays which is now my main interest
I saw MOA on ebay at a reasonable price and I thought fuck it id love another escort as I ive owned a few .. you only live once so now im in a happy relationship with a gsxr 1000 and an rs ..lol

Don,t blame you.I would only do it all again with a series 1 escort RS turbo. Not really into cossies.I spent all my wages on that grey one for months and months.Although as I work in a body shop the respray and delocking cost me £100.lol
