Default 76mm Air filters

WHY can I not find many anywhere !

I have seen the Grp A K&N that Rainbum sells but it won't fit in my engine bay.

The kit Matt Lewis sells also doesn't fit which is a PITA so it looks like I need a narrow filter. I'm trying to find one of the large cylindrical type ones as I know that will fit but can't see to find a supplier for them.

My other thought as air flow is not great on my car is to run a filter direct to the turbo rather than use a 90 degree hose which puts it in front of the cam pulleys, the reason for this is there is a hole in the inner wing where I suspect back at some point there was a cold air feed directly to the turbo assuming they just bolted a filter straight to the T4.

Thoughts and suggestions please, just spend a fair bit on a Matt Lewis kit and a reducing hose for it but none of it is any use to me now
