Default Me sun roof decided to leave the car! SHOCKED.

Well... Was on the a1 today in the s2 with me mate and decided to open her up, then all of a sudden the fooking sunroof just ripped straight out!!! We both looked at each other with complete shock! Proper shit ourselves.

So am on the lookout for a nice sunroof if anyone can help that would be great, here's some pictures:

Good job it wasn't pissing it down lol.

I had the same happen to me in the 4i

Mine came out 230 miles from home on a very cold March night.

The sunroof started to whistle very slightly as i was going at a good pace, then all of a sudden it got louder then just shot out.

Steve

Mine did it at about 100 mph, after it started coming away previously at 140,was wandering what my lass was doing holding on to the roof lol. Had a look and roof was rotten where it screws into next to the gutter holes. Ended up having just a sunroof in that did not open.

Wow, lucky not to damage your car and even more lucky it didnt hit a following car oh and another slice of luck as it was a sunny day, how lucky you are.

Did you find any bird shit on your car today, or the days leading up to the event? my nan always used to say, "muck for luck"

Around 3 years ago at RS Combe I was around 50 yards behind a Red FRST at
the fastest part of the circuit when his sunroof flew off and went probably 60 feet in the air
luckily it landed on the grass to the side of the track.
