what's the best stuff too use?

Theirs loads of different things when i did one once it went like this:

Wash soap and water, cillit bang, over night in bleach, wash again, dishwasher came up ok - as for the power steering tank i would buy a new one as you can pick them up for £30

 

Yup - New power steering Ford ones can be got trade for less than that

another question, wanted to get rid of my alloy header tank, can I use a 4x4 one? it's just I've got three outlets on mine at the mo and the 4x4 ones only have two...

 

I used a bottle brush to clean mine. I just stuck it in the hole n rubbed it about. Ive heard of people using rice and water or coke.

 

Pea shingle and detergent, shake well for a few mins, works well
