Default 4x4 Saff, underside Resto project (updated 11th November)

What was a case of changing my rear bushes has now turned into a full blown underside restoration project...
Only problem is Im not sure how far to take it and I can see things getting expensive

As you can see it was in very bad need of a clean up...

The previous owner keept the car on her front drive/garden
and the wet grass has taken it's toll on it...
When I took the fuel tank out the was so much old grass that had rotted the tank to bits

Ive got it fully stripped now ready for sandblasting
And needs welding in the common places (chassie rails)

I will post more pics as I go

Yours has a bit more surface rust than mine but your rails are better than mine at the bottom. I have another complete fuel pump bracket which im having coated at the moment so I have a spare one now, You can have it for 15 if you want? its blasted and powder coated silver it is missing the pump bracket though same as yours

Lads the rear rear rails that i thought i had got my hands on were just the rear boot floor sections only, that may or may not be some assistance to you two. For the record i'm now having some new ones fabricated.

I used a white stone gaurd with a shutz gun.
went on well, but reacted in a couple of place were the rust primer wasn't dry
Hoping that when it dries I'll give another coat and it should be alright..

Got the gearbox back in today. I would advise not to do this on your own,
I did, 2 jacks and alot of hot sweaty fun...

I also put my new Powerflex beam bushes in. Pain in the arse that was.
I wont be doing that again in a hurry ended up squezing them in with a vice.

Beam to go up next. I will put some more pics up soon.
