Default Coil leads for 2wd saph

I was wondering do they really need to be as long as they are, mine is nealry 2 foot long.

Does anyone run shorter ones and if so do you notice a difference?

The only reason i ask is i have a tiny misfire higher in the revs and i have now changed everything, that is the only thing that might be hindering it a little more.

Many thanks in advance steve.

What make leads do you have?

The ignition system needs to be 100% perfect condition or you will get misfires, rotor arm, cam, leads, plugs etc.

Also what are your plugs gapped at?

The only "need" for the king lead is dictated by the position of your dizzy and ignition coil, so move it closer and it can be shorter.
Misfires can be caused by all manner of things on a cossie, even routing the ht leads too near to the tps/phase can cause it due to electrical interference.
Don't make the mistake of assuming the very overpriced overhyped coilpack conversion is a cure all, a better coil with more energy can sort a huge amount of issues with blow out.
Using plugs like IK27 etc can help no end, as they need less power to fire, but I'd have a look at everything else first.

Cheers for the info guys, gives me a little more to go on.

Yes i am still running dizzy, but it does have a group a coil. Might find a shorter coil lead.

I shall get back to you on the leads and plugs i am using, hopefully the weather might cheer up so i can get out there and have a play with it.

Still even with this little issue i am loving cossie ownership.
