hi i just found out my roof on my s2 is rusting bad its the outer skin poss the inner skin as well can i buy a new pannel or is it the case of cutting one off a mk4 and is there any one on here doing it or done it with pic's please

its a big job, i have seen it done before when the a,b and c pillars were cut and a new roof stuck in its place.

might be better to find a better shelled RS if it isnt too modded, or you could unpick the roof skin but its joined at the gutter so is a big job!

 

A few years back my mate dave did this on a mates car (before the carbon ones were about)we found a non sunroof car and he unpicked the skin and transfered it to his turbo

 

any one got pics of where to cut them if i do. do it i want to make sure where to cut it

 

The one above was drilled out on the spot welds of the roof skin ,along each gutter rail and in the front screen shut and the boot shut ,and a little bit brazed on the top of the a pillers
