Default Some pictures of porkies clio when my mrs cleaned it

Couple of people were asking for pics of Lee's clio in the other thread about ginges clio, so I thought I'd stick some up that I took when my mrs cleaned it when I had it after the ring trip that I drove it on.

I'm not any good at detailing type threads to be honest, as I know you are meant to take pics from the same reference point before and after etc which I didnt do, but here are some before, during and after pics anyway

BEFORE:

DURING:

She stuck it under a gazeebo while she polished it to stop the sun making the polish dry to quick:

AFTER:

Interior:

BEFORE:

AFTER:
After she cleaned it inside, She made up some covers for the cage padding out of netting and cable tied it in place as lee didnt like all the duct tape

She machined the lights too cause they were pretty bad, didnt come up perfect, but certainly a big improvement

Before:

During:

After:

Oh, and she gave the engine bay a quick once over too:
Before:

After:

More to marriage than just her cleaning cars and being good in bed, she needs to get her lap times at combe down another few seconds before she deserves a proposal

This is us for those of you who dont know her as no doubt someone will ask for a picture as a bird got mentioned:

Same here, Im just not into it at all really, she loves it though, in fact she is out there now detailing the civic I have just bought (bear in mind I've only bought it to scrap it and keep the engine for my clio ) she really just cant resist it.

She spent 2 fucking days doing the clio for Lee, and no one even asked her to, just it was here for a few days before I dropped it back to Lee so she couldnt resist

Finished result looks good mate

However and i don't mean to offend here but in this pic you can see that far too much product has been used

The polish has not been worked long enough for it to break down, you only need 2-3 pea size blobs of polish put to the pad and stick to working a 2ft x 2ft area at a time.

Also with the headlights i think you would have got a better finish with wet sanding first, however if you have not done this before you would be best to get some spares to practice on first.

Keep up the good work

LOL, no offence taken as funnily enough thats exactly what she said so I already knew that, I popped out to see how she was getting on and to grab a few pics and I decided to show an interest by joining in and it was actually me that polished the passenger side of the bonnet while she did the drivers side (hence the difference in that picture), I dont mind doing polishing itself even though im not into cleaning, but apparently im not very good at it so I fucked off back inside and left her to it again

If you look on the other pic, you can see I did half the front bumper too while I was there, and I made the same mistake again

As above, im afraid its me thats guilty of that on the passenger side, she's always telling me off for using too much product whenever I help her clean anything.

but overall she does a realy good job chip, get her a snow foam lance bought
Yeah she has asked for one for her birthday.

Any good links?

Needs to work with a Karsher pressure washer.

nice job

i don't like the idea of cable ties on the roll cage padding. i think that they may snag or catch on something a bit too easily.

Here you go chip http://shop.autobritedirect.co.uk/pr...ances-15-c.asp just tell them you have a karcher and they will sort out the correct fitting, theres loads of foam to choose from,i use autobrights supa snow foam goes on realy thick and clings realy good,5ltrs will last a very long time as you only need about 1" in the bottle and fill the rest with water

The block bit of the tie is pointing down on each one where it cant catch on anything, but yes im sure you are right that there is a better solution possible if you really tried, but it was certainly a lot better than the duct tape, we did try the local rally place for some proper padding but they didnt have any in stock that fitted so she just made these with some fabric she grabbed at a material place in town. Lee was pretty pleased with it for a temp fix but im sure he'll come up with something better at some point

That was pre-Lee "totally muffing" it as cheap trackday fun wasn't it??

It's a great wee car, but I'm really keen to know the full spec of it now it's finished.

He was about halfway through throwing money at it at this point.

Mainly on labour TBH, think it owed him about 20K at this point in time, but you could have easily replicated it for 10K im sure.

As for foam lance i have this one http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acata...ance-cat2.html think the autobrite price is slightly cheaper though that was posted above by Retro-al.

As for amount of polish you need, im sure your missus has told you but this is more than enough

Lol, she does most of the cleaning of all our cars TBH mate, and now you know why, looking at the pic you pointed out I can really see what she meant now where as I wasnt taking much notice at the time

Ok, she'll no doubt tell me where to buy it from anyway, she's far better at finding bargains than me but I'll pass those links on in case she hasnt seen them.
